A silent film, Opening tells the story of an unhappy young man whose wife is gone, but the pictures of their happy life together remain. In an effort to be with her again, the man builds a picture-viewing contraption that whisks him back to relive those happy moments with her.
Opening began as a school project that was filmed to represent the visual style of the key crew members. Filmed in hectic, one-hour increments, the cast and crew had to hurry their way through each shoot, trying to squeeze in as much shooting time between classes. At the end of the day, this film was shot and completed in a week and eventually accepted into several film festivals.
