The Miracle on the Hudson: Coming Home is a feature length documentary centered around Flight 1549’s incredible emergency landing in the Hudson River.
Although most of the press surrounding the event focuses on the “crash” itself, this film highlights the people whose lives were forever altered when their routine flight out of New York City nearly turned fatal. The film presents first-hand accounts of passengers, pilots, and other related parties to provide insight into the human elements of the potential tragedy that became a worldwide symbol of hope.
In addition to focusing on those directly affected, this movie also documents the struggle to move the plane itself from New Jersey to North Carolina a few years later. Utilizing exclusive footage obtained during the aircraft’s shift down the east coast to the Carolinas Aviation Museum, the film shows how highways shut down, towns removed landmarks, and crowds lined the roads hoping for a glimpse of the plane that defied the odds and grew to represent a bit of light in a dark time.
